Congress has booked two coaches of a train to go to Udaipur in Rajasthan for the Chintan Shivir of former president Rahul Gandhi and other party leaders. Around 70 leaders of the Congress party will travel from Delhi to Udaipur train to participate in the three-day Chintan Shivir. According to sources, Congress has booked two coaches of a train for this.
The Congress party had approached the Railway Ministry for a separate bogie. Rahul Gandhi along with other leaders will also travel from Delhi’s Nizamuddin railway station to Udaipur on Thursday, May 12 by Mewar Express train. According to the information, due to the overnight journey, Rahul Gandhi has decided to travel by train. This journey of about 744 km will take 12 hours 20 minutes. During this, the train will reach Udaipur stopping at 16 stations.
According to sources, Rahul Gandhi shared the decision of going to Udaipur by this train with other party leaders in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting held at the Congress headquarters on Monday evening. However, Rahul Gandhi left it to the party leaders as to how they would go there to attend the Chintan Shivir.
According to sources, more than 70 leaders including senior leaders like former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh and Vivek Bansal will travel to Udaipur by train. However, Congress General Secretary and Chief Spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala will not travel by this train. This plan to travel by train has been decided by the Congress party sometime after President Ram Nath Kovind traveled to Kanpur by train.
Significantly, the Congress is organizing a three-day ‘Chintan Shivir’ in Udaipur to formulate its future strategy on the political, economic and organizational fronts. This is the fourth contemplation camp being organized by the party so far. A total of 422 leaders of the party will participate in this camp.
